16th August 2012
Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixtowe
Wind Direction: ssw
Wind Stength: 14/18
Surf / Sea State: choppy
Air Temperature: 22
Sea Temperature: 16
Weather: sunny periods
Max Speed: 22.33 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 21 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

On my second day on a temp. job putting out road cones dressed like banana man in yellow and for the second day it seemed like I had missed another windsurfing day but like yesterday when the wind didn't arrive to mid afternoon and then went from E to SW and from 10 to 30 mph so that was a bad day and today it seemed windy but when I was sent home at three headed to the Manor where Chris had been out with 7.5 and the wind was dropping - we in East Anglia seem to be of the finge of any wind and rarely get it in good strength :( but it was too nice a day not to try so was out at The Dip at 4:45 with 9.4 trying out my new 270 lt Fanatic Cat. I beat to the other side of the peir and then reached into Bawdsey Bay and up the Deben but the wind was light and gusty up there so returned to the open sea and beat again to the peir in an increasing breeze. The reach back to the Dip was okay but you seemed to be going much faster than the recorded 22 kts :( As for the new board ??? I am not convinced yet, the beat was similar to my old board but the reaching didn't seem as fast and the big heavy Art fin is poor and the lightweight racing footstraps are aweful and will have to go as are very uncomfortable on your feet :( So don't know whether to stick with it or look for another 250 Cat ??? It would be nice to get out on a shortboard but haven't got a lightwind 8.5/9.4 board anymore :(
